Revitalized pastors lead to revitalized churches. Because we believe this statement to be true, the Kansas East and Kansas West annual conferences have adopted a strategy which asks all pastors to develop and implement a plan for continuing education, clergy formation and spiritual growth. Your participation as a Staff Parish committee in the development of your pastor’s plan is important because it will help the pastor shape continuing education in ways that will not only benefit the pastor’s ministry but also the health of your congregation.
We are asking all Staff Parish committees to include in the annual assessment process a conversation about the pastor’s continuing education plan. Your district superintendent will be asking the pastor about the plan during the annual supervisory conversation.
In order to be helpful to pastor, your committee may want to do several things.
Your district superintendent will be happy to discuss any questions or concerns you may have regarding the pastor’s continuing education.

GBHEM Online Continuing Education Consortium with 13 UM Theological Schools
The General Board of Higher Education and Ministry of The United Methodist Church is pleased to introduce an Online Continuing Education Consortium in collaboration with the 13 United Methodist Theological Schools. The online consortium catalogue will serve as a gateway, providing a single entry point through this catalogue and Web links to each theological school offering the classes year-around.
