"Superficiality is the curse of our age…. The desperate need today is not for a greater number of intelligent people, or gifted people, but for deep people." Richard Foster
Spiritual Formation is a combination of academic learning and practicing the seven spiritual disciplines of solitude and silence, fasting and frugality, secrecy and sacrifice, study and prayer, service and submission, worship and celebration, and fellowship and confession.
By recognizing that the Holy Spirit is the enabler for all Christian spiritual formation we are open to find a setting where we can receive God's love and grace. By taking time to study the history and development of the Christian spiritual life, we are able to hear what God's call is for our lives and live it out.
When and where might you plan a retreat for spiritual formation? Please consider one of Kansas East's Retreat Centers. Visit these links for more information on Tallgrass Retreat Center, Baker or Camp Chippewa.
Another opportunity is to consider is Hermitage Retreat Center at Pittsburg, MO. It is located on Lake Pomme de Terre about an hour north of Springfield, MO.
